VPS welcome HJK for this Veikkausliiga Championship Group clash at Lemonsoft Stadion very early Saturday morning Beijing time. Veikkausliiga is of low level by European standards. Football fans and us serious, profit-hungry bettors can expect a match of good level by the Veikkausliiga standards. Both teams have four games left in the Championship Group. HJK, who have won the Veikkausliiga four times in row and qualified have qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage in 2021 2023, this season they qualified for the Conference League league stage. VPS, on the other hand, have never been even close to qualifying for a group stage – which is known as "league stage" starting from this season. In the summer transfer window a big number of new players joined HJK - resulting in a messy, unstable period in July and to some extent August as well. However, now the new players have had a chance to really become members of the HJK team which is clearly the best by pure class in the Veikkausliiga! HJK's "new but not new" head coach Toni Korkeakunnas is, in all honesty, not the smartest coach tactically but he is a likeable man and under him HJK even beat the Romanian champions, Farul, at Bolt Arena 2-0 a year ago in the 4th round of Conference League Qualification after an extremely strong performance! Farul were  a much bigger club than HJK in terms of estimated squad market value - according to Transfermarkt.com. Toni Korkeakunnas replaced Toni Koskela as HJK head coach in July 2023 but had to step down after the season had finished.HJK have a very good situation in terms of absentees here – only Joona Toivio and Santeri Hostikka are injured. Toivio, a veteran player in sharp decline, has not played much recently so missing him has no effect on HJK's chances of winning here. Young talent Roni Hudd is also out as he recently joined HJK from VPS and the teams agreed that he is not allowed to play against his former club. He probably would not have played anyway though.. I want to emphasize that HJK have the deadliest striker in the Veikkausliiga, Lee Erwin, who has scored in most games he has played since joining HJK in July. He is the main reason behind HJK's improvement!  HJK also have players like Luke Plange, a striker on  loan from Crystal Palace, an English Premier League club! I believe that especially these players, along with the moody but extremely skilled midfielder, Lucas Lingman, and the former Finnish national team defender, D. O' Shaugnessy, will make the difference here! O' Shaugnessy is great at giving long and precise passes and is very reliable defending the penalty box as well. He had a long injury break and is improving all the time.. He is in my expert opinion the best defender in Veikkausliiga!




HJK currently occupy the 2nd place in the standings with 44 points to their account KuPS have grabbed 47 points and Ilves 42 points.. These three teams are in an intense struggle for the championship! If HJK do not beat VPS their chances of winning the league decrease hugely..They will most probably take some risks if the score is level late into the 2nd half.. HJK have won 5/7 last Veikkausliiga games and are known for improving their level in high-stakes games in the Championship Group games.. Despite mentioning before that their season has been a disappointment HJK have played much better recently than early – or even midseason.. They easily beat VPS some three weeks ago away from home 3-1 recording many more goal attempts (15-9), shots on goal, attacks and especially dangerous attacks - 69-24! They also generated over 3.00 in expected goals (xG)! Let's remember HJK rotated the squad heavily in this game as it was played only a few days after a very important home game against Klaksvik, which HJK won 2-1 through two late goals - showing great fighting spirit and class! HJK have not lost any of their last eight matches. Well, on the 15th of August they did "lose" after 90 minutes against Dedic away from home in the Conference League qualification 2nd leg 1-2 but the aggregate score was 2-2. A goalless extra time followed - and HJK qualified after penalties. Odds of around 1.65 are available on the HJK win and with almost full squad, well-rested and prepared they should get the job done! Odds on HJK are dropping as smart money from betting syndicates and independent sports bettors piles up on them! I recommended my fans to place the bet as soon as possible. VPS are in poor form and have lost 10/13 most recent matches! They have lost two of their last games, allowing a total of six goals in these matches. They cannot match HJK in any area of the game - not even close! In their most recent match they lost to KuPS 1-3 on the road but did play at a decent level. They are in 6th place in the standings with 32 points in their pocket and do not have much to play for.. They will almost certainly finish in 5th or 6th place – and consequently play in the Conference League Qualification at the end of the season. Yes, HJK had to settle for a 2-2 draw with SJK last Sunday but were the better team on the pitch! The first half was rather balanced but in the 2nd half HJK should have scored 2-3 goals. They recorded 22 goal attempts in this game. SJK, a much better team than VPS at the moment, made HJK play for a silly defensive mistake in the 90th+2 minute. J. Moreno scored the 2-2 goal.
